Last week, I posted a prayer request for my daughter, Ke’ili. Well, she saw her oncologist on Friday and praise the Lord, Jesus, Mother Mary, and all the Saints, because her LPs (spinal taps) were clean ever since the first one that had terrible cells in the fluid. I cried with relief. I hope you will continue to pray with us each day at 10 am Pacific time. She will continue with weekly monoclonal antibody infusions, a few chemo drugs, and then, next week, a four-day intensive blast of heavy-duty chemo. A few days after, she will be in the hospital for a few weeks to receive the weaponized T-cells. If all goes well, Kei will come to our house for a few weeks and then be allowed to go home for two weeks with just night-time supervision. When she is strong enough, the doc will schedule a bone marrow transplant that will give her new stem cells to replace the bone marrow that keeps making leukemia cells. So new prayers will be needed at that time for a good match. Again, this is such a long, arduous journey, but Kei is a warrior and determined to beat this. I am in awe of her grace under pressure and her inner strength.
I also pray for Becky Goheen, Tyler di Turi, and Carol Nezat and their families as they continue to battle their cancers and aftereffects of the treatments. I pray for everyone I care about to be healed if struggling physically, emotionally, spiritually, or financially. I pray for our country amid the chaos and uncertainty we have been plunged into.
If you know anyone who is ill or has hereditary diseases in their family, please reach out to your Congress members to stop the current administration from gutting research funding across the country. Research is the only way we can figure out how to combat diseases and ensure that there will be medical treatments for you or your loved ones when needed.
You know, knowledge is power, so we cannot let the administration/Musk destroy programs that aid the disabled and kids who learn differently, US veterans, and other targeted groups of Americans. We, the people, must stand up.
Mahalo for your prayers.
