I know that Memorial Day is to remember those who died while serving our country while in the military. It’s often mistaken to be the same as Veteran’s Day, but for me, it is also a reminder to remember loved ones who have died. Do what you need to do.
Like so many, I was captivated by Iam Tongi on American Idol. His grief has struck a chord with millions of viewers. I love the fact that his beautiful stage presence and his incomparable song delivery touches aching hearts. I love that he feels comfortable with crying. He is teaching males that crying is okay when you feel pain. Grieving males desperately need this message.
In fact, males of all ages need to know that crying is healthy. So, mahalo nui loa Iam for being a role model in addition to being a talented singer.
If you are having a hard day and need a good cry to let go I recommend that you tune in to YouTube.com and search for Iam Tongi American Idol audition. He sings James Blunt’s son “Monsters.” He had the judges crying without embarrassment. I loved it. That song is guaranteed to help you release pent-up tears and sadness. Also, his new single, “I’ll Be Seeing You” will have the same effect. In fact, Iam had the judges crying so many times during the season that it had to affect viewers.
Go have a good cry. My new favorite singer will be there to help you.
Be well,
Shirley
